Congratulations to Jin on completing his PhD!

Dr. Hou is the fifth student to graduate from Dr. Mohite’s group. He successfully defended his work on “Synthesis of 2D Halide perovskite via kinetic and thermodynamic control.” He will pursue a postdoc at Northwestern University under Dr. Ted Sargent and Dr. Bin Chen on perovskite tandem solar cells! We wish him the best of…

Congratulations to Hao for defending his thesis!

Congratulations to Hao Zhang from the Applied Physics Program for successfully defending his thesis on Studying exciton photo-physics in 2D halide perovskites! He will continue to work with the Woodside-Rice Decarbonization accelerator program to study the conversion of CO2 and CH4 to carbon products….

Dr. Mohite was presented the 2022 DOE Annual Merit Review award for innovation in hydrogen production technology

This award is presented to Dr. Aditya Mohite of Rice University for achieving an integrated halide perovskite photoelectrochemical cell with record-setting solar-driven water-splitting efficiency of 20.8%. Mohite’s system exhibited extended durability due to a novel graphite anticorrosion barrier that translates >99% of photoelectric power directly to hydrogen production. His work increasing the durability and efficiency…

Congratulations!! First year PhD student Jessica Persaud is the latest recipient of NSF GRFP 2022!

Jessica is one of the 38 students from Rice who were awarded NSF GRFP 2022. She is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department and will work on 3D and 3D-2D halide perovskite heterostructures for photovoltaic and other optoelectronic devices. https://news.rice.edu/news/2022/nsf-awards-38-graduate-research-fellowships-rice-students…
